The Zubair Permanent Power Generation Plant (ZPPGP) is a large-scale power plant located in the southern part of Basra, Iraq. The plant is designed to generate electricity through the use of gas turbines and has a total capacity of 740 MW (gross capacity).
Shams Al-Sabah (SAS) General Contracting Company Ltd. has secured a subcontract with General Electric (GE) Middle East FZE formerly called ALSTOM Middle East FZE (the Contractor) and Eni Iraq B.V. (the Company) to build the 740 MW Zubair gas-fired power plant, near Basra in southern Iraq.
